His throat emitted a low groan, a sign that life was still embedded deep within him. The bleeding wouldn't stop. Jade held the Knight of Time in her grasp, her dress as deep and green as the universe around her soaked with the blood of her fragile lover. What else was there to do?
Jack wouldn't stop staring, his ears folded back, his white blank eyes wavering in a puppy-like demand. Dave was losing life fast, if death had not caught up with him already. She begged for the strange enemy who held the essence of her omnipotent guardian to glance away for just a moment. But modesty could not get the best of her here.
With cheeks flushed bright red, she took off his busted sunglasses. He looked so peaceful, eyes shut. The bullet holes were thrown about, coating his chest like red diamonds. His heart was no longer beating. Tears coated her eyes. It had been her fault. She got cocky…and now she had to watch him die. His body was heavy in her arms.
Though his mouth was coated in blood, she pressed her lips to his. They were still warm.
Within moments she felt his fingers grasping her dark hair. His chest hitched in his sudden breathing. In her fingers were his broken glasses, the very item he had been hiding his eyes in for the longest time.
He groaned, swiping a hand in front of his face. His eyes refused to open, "Where are they?"
"Dave…open your eyes."
"No Jade…you'd hate them…"
She cocked an eyebrow at this. Hate them? "Why?"
"They…just are…they…" he groaned, shaking his head. "Hideous. Eyes of a mutant."
"I refuse to believe that." She began to slide her thumb over his cheek. "Dave you are wonderful. You're funny, although in a weird ironic way, but its charming. You've risked a lot to be with me. I brought you back for a reason…don't you think?"
His face became noticeably warmer, biting his lip with guilt. Slowly his eyelids pried open, revealing the bright red irises behind. Jade's face now became warm. "Oh Dave…they're gorgeous."
"Harley shut the hell up and get your pretty face down here."
Dave pressed his forehead to hers, letting their lips press against one another's once more. His were surprisingly soft and warm. She knew this meant their departure from one another. Right now it didn't seem to matter. The sunglasses dropped from her hand.
The rush was so intoxicating. Her arms wrapped so tight, feeling a little silly protecting someone who was a knight.
But being with him at that moment made it feel like time stood still.

Seek the Highb100d
"I said to motherfucking kneel!" Gamzee screamed at Equius, causing Nepeta's heart to race as she watched the scene unfold from her hiding place in the air duct. There was a sharp twang and the small sound of an arrow whizzing through the air, and Equius roared in pain. An arrow had lodged itself deep into his meaty lower thigh, right above the knee. Equius fell to his knees, then looked up quickly as Gamzee approached, laughing maniacally.
In one swift movement, Gamzee snapped the bow in half, pulling the bowstring taught. He yanked it forward, wrapping it around Equius's neck and pulling as hard as he could. E

Nothing Left to Say
There was nothing left to say, nothing left to do except move on. John knew that, yet he just couldn't seem to tear his eyes off of the bloodied form of his dad, lying still and cold on the black stone of the castle floor. Slowly, John sunk to his knees, eyes still glued to the bodies. How could he possibly just "move on" from the death of his guardian, the man who had always been there to lovingly put band-aids on bloodied toddler knees when they hit the unforgiving concrete, or had the patience to teach clumsy kindergarten fingers how to gracefully dance along piano keys? John knew he was crying, but did nothing to stop the slow, steady flo

Bright Eyes
She can't take her eyes off of him.
From the moment she walks into her first class, she can't look away.
It's not like he's a particularly fine specimen of pubescent manhood - reddish blond hair, slim build, clothes too dark for his complexion (and wouldn't Kanaya be tickled at that, Terezi criticizing someone else's fashion) and heavy black glasses over his eyes. She doesn't think he notices her peeking at him - he doesn't look back, at least she doesn't think so. Then again, he could be shooting her a death glare behind those shades and she'd never know.
Stupid stupid dumb. Cool girls like Terezi do not stare at weird guys in their algeb

A 500-word drabble about Dave and Jade.
CAUSE THEY'RE ADORABLE
I may do one for John and Rose later too, cause they're cute too.
All these characters belong to that asshat Hussie.
