"Friday…" Gryphon told when she woke the morning of her wedding day. "Today is the day." She held her heart close. The sun had barely began to rise beyond the horizon across Berk. Many a person was up now, usually weddings were big events and nobody wanted to be caught lazing about. But the Thunderspout girl didn't have to worry, everything would be taken care of.

A gentle rap came upon her door. Her assistants were Ruffnut and Astrid for today, seeing as she didn't have a mother. Halburin's sister pish had refused to "see that half-sister of hers" nude in the steam baths later.
"Are you all ready?"
"Yeah…" Gryphon told softly, holding her fingers together.
"You don't have a braclet do you?"
"No…my mother refused to give me one at birth." She blushed gently, "besides I wouldn't deserve such a mark."
Astrid rolled her eyes, "You and Snotlout haven't been THAT dirty have you?"
"It wasn't actual virginity loss but it did involve…"

Ruff plugged her ears with her fingers and started to chant, "La, la, la! Don't say another word! We're going to fix you up and get you to that alter if it's the last thing we do!"
Astrid started to strip the red-head of her clothing, gently and softly. "Are you sure you're okay with this?"
"I did it to you at your wedding. Why not?" She smirked, "We've both seen each other naked. Besides the baby doesn't have eyes yet."
The blonde girl blushed, "How did you know?"
"It's kinda obvious." Ruff commented as she began to find a towel to cover the modest Thunderspout in. "You were puking all night at my wedding with Fishlegs last month." It was apparent that Hiccup not only wanted to see that there was an heir to his family but he finally showed his ultimate love for his wife.
"So how does it feel to be the last one of the girls to get hitched?" Astrid told with a red face trying to get off the topic of her pregnancy.
"I'm really nervous. But I know he's the right one."

Snotlout was awoken with the same manner but instead to Hiccup, Tuffnut and Fishlegs. "Wakey wakey man!" The stout blonde told.
"Yep it's your lucky day." Hiccup told his cousin. The Jorgenson boy stroked his goatee with pride, puffing out his chest. "Long day it will be!"
"All right you were one of the boys at the last wedding." Tuff snickered, "You know what ya gotta go do."
"Smash some graves!"
"Well fake ones." Hiccup added, giving a tiny nod. Snotlout cocked an eyebrow and rubbed down the scalp of his cousin. "Heard about the little one on the way man! Congrats."
"Ugh I just wish she would stop snipping at me."
"Mom always told me a pregnant girl is a monster in disguise." Fishlegs told shaking. "That's why Ruff and I are gonna wait a while before we have a family."
Tuff rolled his eyes. "Yeah right. Admit it, you're scared!"
"Not at all!"

Gryphon and the girls laughed as they were beginning the bathing. They playfully splashed one another, giggling. "So tradition requires we tell you about how to be a wife and yadda yadda."

Ferocious groaned as she came into the heated pools, resting her large body in the dragon-sized pool just a few inches away from the women. Gryphon pat her nose as the babies followed, floating and landing by them. The female purple one nuzzled against her mother's master, cooing and shooting little flames. Astrid shrugged at this, "It's okay. Not much to it. You just gotta do what you always do. Be there for your guy. Train…well you heal the dragons. And erm uhh…cook. You like to cook right?"
"Yeah got that from my mom." She snickered softly, "What about you Ruff? What's it like with Fishlegs."

"We still act like teenagers." She sighed gently, "We're always doing stupid stuff. Beach walks. Treasure searches. Gnome hunting. Stupid stuff."
"It sounds sweet."
"I'm sure you and Snotty will be just fine. You always did seem like the perfect pair. I hope you two live long and dwell a long time together."
"Thank you."

Snotlout spat a wad of spit down on the earth as he glanced at the small ocean of fake grave stones. "Which one? Hmmm…" He started to pace around them and kicked one. It fell but nothing was inside. He grunted starting to smash through them. When only a few were left he noticed flour trailing the ground. He glanced up to see Halburin covered in the stuff, nearly snickering at his costume. "You're supposed to be the ghost? What my dad couldn't have taken the job?"

Halburin bit his lip in anger but the others had dared him a while back in a drinking game so he had to pay his debt. "Snotlout, I am the ghost of the Jorgenson family lineage…and…"
"You don't look anything like my great grandpa!"

"Shut up!" He tossed the blade at his feet, "That's the blade that's been passed down through your family's sons and now the responsibility of its protection goes to you. Keep it with you, and at the alter exchange it with your fiancé.  I will tell you that it is important, if you want strong sons to be bore you must grip it steady and never let go."
"I will." Snotlout told with a stubborn tone, gripping the hilt tight. He glanced at the dullness of the blade, obviously none had sharpened it. It was more for looks than use but it was a handsome blade. Its hilt was carved with the hammer of Thor with jewels engraved within the copper. "Alright Gryphon…here I come!"
Fishlegs whistled, "First a bath!"
"Gods!" Snotlout shook his head, "Ugh…"

Gryphon had just been soaked in the oils and flowers, getting up as the women began to dress her. She bore the dress she had worn at the Green Isle, the same one her mother Hawk was married in. The green silk caressed against her skin. The final touch was added, the ceremonial crown. Hers was flaunted with flowers, jewels and silver. She felt a bit off balance by the weight of it. "Whew…heavy."

"Hold it high until evening comes. Then it'll get fun." Astrid snickered, patting her back, "Come on. Let's go. Gotta give the boys room."

Soon Snotlout and the other men were bathing, talking about the daily wonders of having a wife. Hal scrubbed himself free of the ghost "costume" and kept silent, only now having a girlfriend.

"Alright girly it's time!" Astrid told as she got up from the bench all three women sat upon. "Saw the boys. They're heading up there right now."

The ceremony itself was being held at the cliff's edge near Gryphon's home where the two recalled first meeting there. Snotlout stood at the open alter with a new Thor hammer charm dangling from his belt.  The Thunderspout, Nillson and Jorgenson family were all collected, exchanging gifts as the other families patiently awaited the events to unfold. He gulped as he saw his red-head bride to be start to approach, let go by the girls when she spotted her fiancé. The two chuckled with one another as they hugged. "You look stunning." He told softly, kissing her cheek.

Stoick rolled his eyes at the two, being the one to wed them today. "would you two stop making googly eyes over one another?"
"We're having the goat right?" Leo Thunderspout asked as Ferocious stomped in with Toothless and the others. "Yeah…go ahead and cut that baby open."

Gryphon led her eyes astray as the animal's throat was slit, the blood collected in a bowl. Stoick led the bowl to the pile of stones nearby and dipped fig leaves into it. "Sorry lass…but its gotta be done."
She tightly shut her eyes, holding tight to her glasses. "Just get it over with."

He flicked the blood onto it and the crowd around. Equal reactions came about, the red-head shaking at its feeling. "Ugh it's still warm!"
"All right you two, go ahead and exchange the swords."

"Oh yeah." Snotlout cleared his throat, presenting the Jorgenson sword to her, "For you my lady, to ensure a strong, viable family ahead."
She blushed and reached for the Thunderspout sword, an equally dull but jeweled blade. "And to you Snotlout, to win your heart in the hardest of battles."

"Now the rings." The chief told softly, smiling as they placed the rings on each other's fingers. "I promise with all my heart that I will never let you get hurt." Snotlout told, parting her hair gently, "And that I'll be the best husband and father that you'll ever have. Gryphon, I love you with as much passion and flame that burns in a Nightmare. And I swear to you that I will never let you go."

Gryphon began to cry slightly at this and start to shakily tell her vows, "And to you Snotlout, you brought back the spark of hope in me. You've carried me strong and now I will carry you with wisdom and joy. I will always be there for you, no matter what tides come to our shores. Without you, life is dull. With you, the sun shines no matter the weather. I will be your wife, the one you will love forevermore. And I will never let you go."

"Now go ahead and kiss!" Stoick told with a hearty chuckle, beaming as the two came together for a passion-filled kiss. "You two are married now! Go ahead to the feast! But be sure to leave some for us!"
Gryphon and Snotlout are married now! I'll probably be doing a follow-up fic to complete the cerimony and the event afterward if you know what I mean :eyes:

The feast, the bedding, the morning after all that stuff.
I actually researched Viking weddings and they're so interesting! :la:

There need to be more romantic Snotlout fanfics like this one. I love it.
