FF Crossover: Honor Among Thieves
Part two: A Date with an Immortal.
-Yuffie and Vincent-

A journey had been set out for the scarred, blonde, short haired woman from Cocoon named Chrome Yoner. Once a thief, she mainly worked with beasts now. She was to gather to crystals of the seven heroes that had fallen to their world when the fal'cie who controlled the portals had come to its death. The crystals would seal each of the portals and already she with the help of her ex-boyfriend Djos, a dark-skinned maroon haired man from Pulse who was currently fiancés with Fang , gathered two from Celes and Locke. The radar that Lightning had left them was currently pointing towards the amusement-themed city of Nautilus. They stood on the outskirts, nearby the gates where the workers were welcoming visitors.

"What would two crystal holders be doing here?" She asked, blinking her green eyes as she set her hands against her hips. Djos shrugged in the question, "What do you mean? The Celes and Locke were using a clever scheme to gather money for a hotel room. Maker knows what they would do with that…" he shuttered at the thought, "And considering it took a near-death experience for that hard-headed woman to admit her feelings to him…yikes."
"I'm sure whatever happens, we can be sure these things will show us the way." She held the two orb-like crystals out smirking. A sudden shadow burst from the earth and a figure sped towards her. She didn't see it at first, the shadow was moving too fast. It was too late when she realized that the creature was after the crystals! She flinched after they were snatched, the audible sound of footsteps. "They're getting away!"

Djos reacted quickly, eyebrows crossing as he burst into a running gait. With a yell he hoisted himself into the skies and landed directly on the dashing figure. When the dust cleared, a small squirming girl could be seen directly under his rear, the orbs in her hands. She had dark, short-length hair with a headband over her bangs. Her eyes were chestnut brown, her skin pale and fair. She wore a black jacket and undershirt with white flowers outlined, tan shorts about her waist exposing her navel. "Lemme go! I want this materia!"

"Materia?" Chrome asked confused, she had never heard of such a thing, "What are you talking about? Those are the crystals we need to seal all the portals."

"Portals?" The young woman glanced to her as she pushed Djos off with a surprisingly strong force. She stood and brushed herself off as the sun began to set behind her. She pointed a finger to her nose, shoving it in softly, "So this isn't something do to with the Lifestream or that Chaos fellow again?"

"WHAT?" The blonde thief shook her head, "No, I've never even heard of any of those things. You're on a planet named Cocoon. This is the city of Nautilus. It's an amusment park our government, the Sanctum, created."

"Ohhh…" She sighed at her own crystal, "Darn I thought this was materia. Oh well. Guess I should go back to Vincent." As she said this, a chill filled the air. There was the sound of cloth flapping in the wind. A gasp came from the crowd that was lining up for tickets, many people sticking their heads to the sky. The two did the same, seeing a maroon streak pass the skies. When it landed, the cloth collected and from it a man stepped out. He was very tall, brooding almost. His eyes were the first things they noticed, being a menacing crimson color. He wore a red band over his head with his fringed black hair emerging over it. The red cape he wore had many buckles upon it, all which clacked when he walked towards the three. His pants and shirt were solid black, but they could clearly see the silver guns on their hoisters. From his scarf a mouth came out, directly speaking to the thief. "Yuffie what are you doing? I told you not to leave my side. This is a dangerous place." His voice was heavy.

She put her hands behind her back, a slight blush on her face, "Aw V.V…" The others could tell that he was annoyed by this, a little tick in his expression. Yuffie snickered, "I was trying to get some materia that's all! I thought we could sell some to get into the park."

"I have money." He groaned, his metal claw sticking out to place on his forehead. "You just wanted to get a kick didn't you?"

"You care about me! I know you do!!" She bounced up and down gently, swinging her hips softly. Vincent swifly turned, making his cape dance as he did. "I have no idea what you are talking about. Now…I have to continue looking for a way home."

Chrome saw the problem here. The two obviously liked each other, except Vincent didn't admit it clearly. She whispered something in Yuffie's ear, grabbing her crystal as well as the other two. Yuffie tugged at Vincent's cape. "Alright mister. Chrome here says that if you don't take me out on a date that she won't give us the crystals back."

"And?" He didn't seem impressed. "Well without our crystals combined we can't go home."
Djos played along with a chuckle, "And she won't accept yours without you taking Yuffie on a date!"

Vincent was enraged, gritting his teeth. He stared to his claw, shaking his head. "I guess I have no other choice…"

"Hey cheer up!" Chrome told giving a salute, "You might just have a little fun!"

The night had just begun, the fireworks letting the world know the park was official open. Beauty reigned in the flowers planted along the sides of the opening, paths split in many directions. "So are we just going to follow them all night?" Djos whispered sharply to Chrome, watching Yuffie splurge in the fun of everything.

She pointed to cotton candy, grabbing a huge lot of it and nibbling it. Vincent reluctantly pulled off a piece of the sticky stuff, eating it with a soft grin.

"yeah just think of it as a double date." Chrome told, shrugging, "I have a feeling everything will be just fine."

"Oh roller coaster!" The black haired thief told, bouncing softly before her love as he held her shoulders down. "It won't be like the airship will it? I know you get airsick."
"It won't be." She promised, holding his pinky with her own. She giggled, "You're going to be on with me?"

"Have to make sure you don't get scared." He mumbled, placing his chin into his scarf with arms crossing. Chrome shoved him from behind as Yuffie tugged on his elbow, the two giggling. Djos rolled his eyes, trudging along.

The line wasn't very long, Yuffie's knees shaking softly as she stared. So many loops, it lifted and fell 100 feet towards the ground only to roll about and twist. It was dizzying to stare at, so many things could go wrong. But as soon as she felt Vincent's grip on hers, a soft calm fell through her body ceasing the fear.

When the workers directed them in the front seat, she gripped the bars with a vice. Vincent set his hand over hers and smiled, "it's alright. We've been through worse. I'm here."

She smiled warmly and without warning it took off. The entire thing started to creak, the loud sound of the gears grinding to lift them into the air. The first drop was approaching, the loud rush of the mechanics releasing them after the peak of the first hill had passed.

Yuffie cried out but with glee, giggling as it rushed into a few twists. Vincent however had wide eyes, biting his lip. He was worried a few times when they came so close to the buildings, and even the ocean. As it came to a slow, he stood petrified as Yuffie bounced, "Let's go again."

"Can we not?" He groaned. "We still have other stuff to see too."

"Oh like the petting zoo! You're right!" She lifted herself from the seat when it was safe and helped him out.

The stench was overwhelming, the tall man holding his nose closed as chocobos gathered around Yuffie. Sheep bleated, their small eyes simply gleaming in the starlight. The thief girl held an entire loaf of stale bread gladly gobbled by the giant birds. The squawked, letting her pet them with eager fingers. The way she smiled Chrome noticed it even brought a slight smirk to the broody man's face.

The morning was arriving after the visit to the underwater section of the park. Vincent and Yuffie sat in the highest seat of the Ferris Wheel, watching the east as the horizon became a soft purple color. She was cuddled close to him, his arm over her shoulder. He gave a low sigh, "Okay I admit…I had a really nice time tonight."

"Do you think…" She mumbled sleepily, her eyes barely able to open, "We could do this more often?"

"This?" He asked shrugging. She nodded, snuggling her face against his chest and giving a tiny groan, "Yeah…you're warm. And you're heart…it's so nice…and beating…"
He brushed the hair from her face. The light pierced the skies, the sunlight bursting through the darkness. Vincent glanced to her, so angelic and soft. He brushed a thumb over her cheek and with a swift move locked his lips to her. She grasped him tightly, feeling his neck with her fingers. Their faces were both completly red, but the feeling was overwhelming and amazing.

Yuffie had then fallen asleep. Vincent took her from the ride, curled in a ball tightly gripping her to his chest. She had her fingers at her cheeks like a newborn child, only moving to shift slightly. He stepped to Djos and Chrome who awaited at the entrance. He shut his eyes and shook the crystal from his back pocket. "Thank you both. It has been such a long time since I have had such…feelings. I think…I can accept my fate for once. Perhaps being with Yuffie is for the best. I need to keep her safe."

"With your strength Vincent…" Chrome stated, touching his arm gently, "I'm sure you can. It was very nice to meet you."

"The same can be said here." He nodded his head in a slight bow and turned around. Chrome placed all the crystals together and soon the two were enveloped in a light. Before they shot back home, Vincent looked to Yuffie once more and asked "Is it for the best Lucrecia?"

The light burst forth and when it had faded, the two were gone. They had returned to their own home.

"I guess we move on then."

Djos stayed behind only for a moment with wandering eyes, staring at the clouds, "I can only wonder what his story was."
